Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater

With co-writer Aaron Stewart-Ahn in person

Dir. Panos Cosmatos. 2018, 121 minutes. DCP. With Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough. Outsiders Red Miller and Mandy Bloom lead a loving, peaceful, and isolated existence. However, when their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand, Red is thrust into a phantasmagoric journey filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire. Mandy made a splash with the midnight movie crowd, thanks in large part to the visionary direction by Panos Cosmatos, the sonic tapestry of synths and black metal, and no holds barred story. Mandy upholds the traditions of classic cult films in a mysterious, kinetic way, that it, too, is destined for its own cult status. Special guest, Aaron Stewart-Ahn, Mandy’s co-writer, will appear in person for a Q&A after the screening. View trailer.
