As the Ottoman Empire crumbles into war-town chaos in the early twentieth century, Michael, a brilliant medical student (Oscar Isaac), falls in love with a woman (Charlotte Le Bon) who shares his Armenian heritage. Michael’s romantic rival is Ana’s boyfriend Chris (Christian Bale), an American photojournalist. The Promise is a powerful historical drama by writer/director Terry George, whose credits include In the Name of the Father, The Boxer, and Hotel Rwanda.


This film is presented as part of a double-feature with Intent to Destroy (which follows at 5:00 p.m.). One admission price for both films.
