Part of Four by David Lowery
Saturday, September 15, 2018, 1:00 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image – Bartos Screening Room

Dir. David Lowery. 2016, 102 mins. Digital projection. With Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, Oakes Fegley. David Lowery’s remake of Disney’s live-action/cartoon 1970s classic is a thoroughgoing reimagining, an enchanting, huge-hearted work. Mr. Meacham (Redford), a woodcarver, delights children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods. He claims to have seen the dragon with his own eyes, but his daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) doubts him. When she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a ten-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon, she sets out to discover whether the stories are true. Recommended for ages 7+
