Blade Runner (The Final Cut)

Part of The Blade Runner Saga
Sunday, March 18, 2018, 3:00 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater

Dir. Ridley Scott. 1982-2007, 117 mins. DCP. With Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Daryl Hannah, Edward James Olmos, M. Emmet Walsh. Set in a neon-soaked, futuristic Los Angeles, Blade Runner follows Harrison Ford’s special operative Rick Deckard on an assignment to track down four rogue replicants—androids virtually indistinguishable from humans being manufactured by the shadowy Tyrell Corporation (the miniature set of which is on permanent display at the Museum). The film’s stature has only grown with time; Blade Runner is both a visual triumph and a prescient exploration of what it means to be human. Based on the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Blade Runner was co-written by Hampton Fancher.
