Part of Jerry Lewis Tribute: Two Masterpieces by the Total Filmmaker
Saturday, September 2, 2017, 1:00 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater

Dir. Jerry Lewis. 1961, 95 mins. DCP. With Jerry Lewis, Helen Traubel, Pat Stanley, Lillian Briggs. Architectural structure replaces narrative structure in one of Jerry Lewis’s greatest directorial achievements, a comedy featuring a cutaway house, one of the most elaborate sets ever created in Hollywood. Jerry (as Herbert H. Heebert) seeks sanctuary in a home for woman, and the film maps a topography of repression and desire.
