At Home (Sto Spiti)

Part of New York City Greek Film Festival
Saturday, October 3, 2015, 3:00 p.m.

Dir. Athanasios Karanikolas. 2014, 103 mins. With Zoi Asimaki, Nikos Georgakis, Ieronymos Kaletsanos. A housekeeper who sees herself as a member of the family she has devotedly served for years is forced to face a new, harsher reality when she is diagnosed with a serious illness and her employer runs into financial difficulties. Bathed in dazzling sunlight tainted by the gloom of social injustice, At Home received the 2014 Ecumenical Jury Prize at Berlinale, and the Hellenic Film Academy named Maria Kallimani Best Actress this year for her riveting performance as the beleaguered housekeeper.
