Screening
Masculine Feminine (Masculin féminin)

Part of Star Presence on Screen
Sunday, July 27, 2014, 7:30 p.m.

Featuring Jean-Pierre Léaud
Dir. Jean-Luc Godard. 1966, 110 mins. 35mm. With Jean-Pierre Léaud, Chantal Goya, Marlène Gobert. Godard’s zeitgeist portrait of “the children of Marx and Coca-Cola” in mid-1960s Paris is filled with close-ups. As Godard has said, “every film is a documentary of the actors,” and here he allows his performers to show both the documentary and the fiction at once.
