"'Charlie Rose' by Samuel Beckett" by Andrew Filipone Jr.

LIVE EVENT
Alternate Fictions and Realities: Panel Discussion with Robert Ryang and Andrew Filippone Jr.

Part of Cut Up Sit Downs
Friday, August 16, 2013, 6:30 p.m.
In the Video Screening Amphitheater

Filmmakers Andrew Filipone Jr. and Robert Ryang will discuss how they work with film and television, re-editing familiar scenes to create unfamiliar worlds on screen.

Robert Ryang works at editorial house P.S. 260 in New York City. His video “Shining” (2005), which turns Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror film The Shining into what plays as a preview for a father-son family comedy, sparked the recut trailer internet phenomenon.

Filmmaker Andrew Filippone Jr. splits his time between client commissions through his firm Telling Story, Inc., and personal projects. Filipone’s “‘Charlie Rose’ by Samuel Beckett” renders Rose both interviewer and interviewee in an absurd meditation on technology and identity.

Free admission.
