Kaho Abe is a Computational Fashion Fellow at Eyebeam and Artist in Residence at the Game Innovation Lab at NYU-Poly, where she researches and builds digital games that are played in the physical world. Ninja Shadow Warrior is a photo booth arcade game. It consists of a Kinect camera, a computer, and a hacked closet light, which have been built into a custom cabinet. In the game, players "become" a randomly chosen object by recreating its shape in silhouette. The game is designed to encourage strategic thinking and face-to-face cooperative interaction—the more players work together, the more likely they are to achieve a higher score.
