When he falls in love with a younger woman, Harry decides he must murder his wife to avoid making her suffer through a divorce, in a story narrated by Harry’s best friend Richard. These four characters live with their own deceptions and taboos in 1949 suburbia. Adapted from John Bingham’s story “Five Roundabouts to Heaven,” the script by Sachs and Oren Moverman (I’m Not There) drifts between wry comedy, mystery, and romance, with a richly different aesthetic than any other Sachs film to date.
