CZECH REPUBLIC

Dir.Oldrich Lipský. 1964, 84 mins. Czech New Wave political satire meets Hollywood westerns and musicals in the raucous Lemonade Joe, the story of a yellow-clad cowboy with a good-natured grin and an unquenchable thirst for justice and Kolaloka lemonade (Joe also happens to be a traveling salesman for the brand). This silly and sharp comedy became an international cult favorite, and one of the earliest and most original western genre spoofs. (Not rated)
