"Hands Up! Heads Down!": An Inside Look at Puppetry for Television

Longtime Muppets writer Craig Shemin and veteran performer and puppet builder Lara MacLean present a behind the scenes look at creating puppetry magic for television. Using rare, behind-the-scenes footage and live demonstrations, Craig and Lara will share some of the pro’s secrets and offer pointers on how you can create your own puppet videos.

About the presenters:
Craig Shemin was a staff writer for the Jim Henson Company for fourteen years and continues to write for the Muppets, most recently as co-writer of “The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora.” He created “Lou and Lou: Safety Patrol” and wrote “Tasty Time with ZeFronk” for the Disney Channel. Craig is the president of The Jim Henson Legacy.

Lara MacLean is a puppet wrangler, puppeteer, puppet/prop builder and photo-stylist working for companies such as The Jim Henson Company, Sesame Workshop, and Puppet Heap. Her credits include "Sesame Street," "Elmo in Grouchland," "Aliens in the Family," "Disney's Johnny and the Sprites," and "The Book of Pooh." She is currently performing in "John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean" at New World Stages.
