Dir. Lu Zhang. 2010, 90 mins.

Imported 35mm print. With Jian Cui, Lan Yin. A twelve-year-old Chinese boy living along the frozen river-border between China and North Korea befriends a Korean refugee who sneaks over to play soccer and scavenge food for his starving sister. As suspicions surface about these new immigrants, both boys find their values and loyalties tested. Through masterful long shots of the harsh landscape, Lu creates a moving portrait of nations separated by more than just a river.
