O Brasil: Contemporary Brazilian Cinema

November 14–December 12, 2015

This season’s edition of O Brasil includes a small but diverse selection of recent award-winning independent films from the production powerhouse that is Brazil today: the New York premiere of Last Conversations, master Eduardo Coutinho's last documentary, about teen life, finished posthumously; the fiction feature Absence, a festival favorite from Chico Teixeira; and Swirl, the otherworldly, semi-documentary debut film by Clarissa Campolina and Helvécio Marins, Jr.

Organized by guest curator Marcela Goglio. Presented in collaboration with Cinema Tropical, and with partial support from the Consulate General of Brazil in New York.
